The SEDRIC (Surveillance and Epidemiology of Drug Resistant Infections) Board is launching a fixed term working group to define the future role of genome sequencing in the detection, prevention and control of antimicrobial resistance. The SEDRIC Board and Wellcome Secretariat have agreed to the appointment of 2 fixed term consultants to develop, manage and deliver the working group objectives. We now seek to fill the following roles:

Post 1. Scientist or Clinician academic, lecturer/senior lecturer level. 50% FTE for 6 months

The services will be:

  • Oversight of the working group and its written and verbal outputs, in consultation with Nick Feasey and Sharon Peacock;
  • development of the working group membership and meeting schedule;
  • managing the working group meetings and workshops; preparing papers and reports as required, including terms of reference of the working group;
  • setting meeting agendas, approving minutes, as required;
  • communicating with working group members; and managing the appointed team

Essential experience:

  • Clinician or scientist, lecturer/senior lecturer
  • 5+ years research experience and currently in, or held, a senior role (lead or PI).
  • Experience of bioinformatics and pathogen genomics
  • If clinically qualified, must have specialised in infectious diseases or clinical microbiology OR have academic experience in infectious diseases

Post 2. Clinician or scientist, post-doc level. 50% FTE for 6 months

The services will be:

  • supporting a systematic review of the literature;
  • actively participating in the working group meetings and workshops;
  • drafting of report of findings; and undertaking other work as required, including qualitative research

Essential experience:

  • Clinician or Scientist, post-doctorate qualification,
  • experience of bioinformatics and pathogen genomics.
  • If clinically qualified, must have specialised in infectious diseases or clinical microbiology OR have academic experience in infectious diseases
