The Travel Bursary Scheme was launched in May 2019 to encourage early career researchers based in LMICs to attend and present at the first SEDRIC Global Meeting. The scheme was extremely successful and attracted many applications from researchers based in sub-Saharan Africa and southeast Asia. Ten finalists were selected from an amazing pool of candidates to attend the meeting in London in October.

The finalists were asked to give speedy talks at the Global Meeting, sharing with the audience their career path and contribution to date to the field of AMR and surveillance. Our board member, Professor Iruka Okeke mentored the finalists in the lead up to the meeting.
